About Barefoot Children's Theatre
Storytime Puppet Making Class
Led by teaching artist Calli Brennan, this class is intimately designed for children and their caregivers. It is an hour-long class, held weekly. Families will start by reading a story and learning a corresponding verse. A creative activity will compliment the story and theme for the day, and the child can take home the craft to call their own.
About the Owner
Calli brennan
She began her love for theatre at a young age borrowing plays from a public library and playing make believe with her siblings. In high school she was devoted to the theatre and mentored by late director Leo McBride and his wife Nancy. At the University of Nevada, Reno she received her BA in French with a minor in Theatre taking classes with director Sue Klemp. In 2015 she received her MA in Theatre from the University of Hawai'i Manoa stage managing for directors Mark Branner and Eden Lee Murray. Working in the costume shop under Hannah Shauer she learned basic costume construction and acted as wardrobe supervisor for the Kennedy Theatre productions. She ultimately got her idea for Barefoot Children's Theatre after collaborating on a graduate project for Margot Fitzsimmons called Pousette and the Pirates.
